11.17.08 Conflicted Update

Some of you may have noticed that I freaked out earlier today over my outfit. It started before I left the house. See, last night I took the scissors to some things because I wanted to wear my brown boots. And I seriously have nothing to go with my brown boots.

My initial thought was to remove the inner top of a dress (which functioned as a shelf bra, or for me, a boobie smasher) and just let the criss-cross fabric in front do it's job. That worked out nicely, and it looked good, but the dress it's too long to be worn with these boots, and I didn't really feel up to hemming a dress (this is the second one in line. I need a sewing machine!).

I pulled out the purple sweater dress and chopped the neck off. There's no seam or anything, so I just like, CUT IT. I know you are saying "she is crazy" and "what a weirdo" because I just chopped the neck off my dress all haphazardly like that. But it's NOT haphazardly, it's straight as I could have cut it, and I LIKE it now, so shut up.

Then I had this top from Target that I've been fantisizing for a long time about cutting up. I dont know why, but I decided that it would make a perfect shrug. The sleeves are long like I like them, and I could make it the length that I wanted. But I just sliced this off too. No sewing or anything, just cutting! WTF AM I THINKING?!?! But I like it. It was a great top for it too because it's that inside out looking type with the rolly seams and everything, so you can just whack it off and the edges roll up and voila!

I just now realized that I covered up the cut I made with the arms! HAHAHAHAHA! You can't see the cut I made in this picture! Damn! I didn't intend for that either, I was just trying to get the sleeves up in the shot. I'm always in such a rush when I take photos at home because everyone (dog, cat, daughter) is crying for food or attention or something. I'll get you a picture of how I cut it. I promise it's not all crooked or anything.

The dress without the cut up clothing. Oh wait, it IS cut up clothing.

Boots. Payless, last year.

Are you judging me now? I hope not. Because I'm very HAPPY. Even though I did freak out a little bit.

I think I was mainly freaked out over the color combination, followed by wearing boots with a short dress, followed by the alterations that I made. But I'm over it now that the day is over.

I need those earrings that I have yet to pay for to go with this outfit. This Friday, honest!!

This is what I'm wearing tonight. My daughter considers this "naked". And probably inappropriate for posting on my blog, but whatever.

Day 12 - Black and Gray

So, I'm not sure if this is really Day 12. Or a different day. But I'm calling it Day 12. And if you ever dispute me on which day it actually is, I will probably argue with you. Not that I really care or anything, but I call the shots around here. Or something.

Anyway, I spent money at Sears-Mart yesterday on two sweaters. I already told you about that. This is the one that I didn't post a picture of, and one that I was very excited to wear. Yes, I know this outfit is boring. But I like it because I am boring. So there.

I took a picture in front of my red door, to be different. It was a Level 1 today - like I care.

This picture is funny, not only because I'm fat, but because I'm moving my head, so my face is all blurry and weird. That's really the only reason why I'm posting it.

So, today I decided I wanted to wear some very plain, black loafer-ish shoes, but I remembered the ones I had wore out and I threw them away. But then I saw these on my top closet shelf, and thought, "Hmmmm... I wonder why these are up here? I could totally wear these!" And I did! Except by 8:30 a.m., I was up by the first aid kit applying bandaids to my ankles because my skin had rubbed raw. Keep in mind I have a desk job!

The band aids didn't work. I seriously COULD NOT WALK in these shoes by 8:45 a.m. My options were to 1. Borrow A Pair (today of ALL DAYS, no one had a pair of shoes under their desk), 2. Buy A Pair (which I could not do because I couldn't wear these shoes to shop in, even for five minutes, if someone paid me), or 3. Modify.

I modified.

OH YES I DID!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Hilarious, right? How about AMAZING AND INGENIOUS?! I was walking on clouds for the rest of the day. Thankfully my pants were really long.

Sweater detail. You know you want it.

I recognize that there are probably some layering options with this sweater that I am not aware of. I encourage you to suggest ways to layer and/or wear this sweater. (It is not long enough to pretend to be a dress, obvs.)

Skully hoops.

Sweaty me.

At home. When I went to take the first picture, I realised that little metal thingy on the door was all bent, so I tried to push it in real fast, but I wasn't fast enough.

Here I am "turning it out".
